1934 – 1958

Funeral services have been conducted for Richard Edward Eaton, 24, a 1955 graduate of Tulane university, who died following an illness in Oak Park, Ill. The services were conducted at the funeral home of Tharp- Sontheimer-Tharp Inc., 4117 S. Claiborne Ave.

Mr. Eaton was a native of New Orleans and was educated in the city's public schools. He received a degree in chemical engineering from Tulane University in 1955.

Mr. Eaton was a member of the Carrollton Avenue Methodist church; the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Alpha Chi Sigma fraternity. Sigma Chi fraternity, and was a lieutenant (j.g.) in the U.S. Naval Reserve.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. A. G. Eaton, of New Orleans; his widow, the former Sally Ann Franklin; and a son, Richard Jr., both of La Grange Park: a sister, Ethel L. Eaton; and a brother, Robert G. Eaton, both of New Orleans.

Pallbearers were John C. Grout, Peter Bremer, Robert Cook, Thomas Robertst, Fred Bookhardt, Jr. and Theodore Broekman.
