Funeral services for Stephen Gary Sherman will be held at 11:30 am Thursday, May 3, 2012, in the chapel of John Kramer & Son with Rabbi Jonathan Cohen and Rabbi Arnold Task officiating. Interment will be in the Jewish Cemetery, Main Street, Pineville.

Visitation will be from 10:30 am, Thursday, until time of service at the funeral home.

Stephen Sherman, 69, of Alexandria, died on Monday, April 30, 2012, in CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital.

Mr. Sherman was a native of Alexandria and a graduate from Bolton High School. He attended Tulane University, where he was a president of his Business Administration class and a member of ZBT Fraternity. He was a Lieutenant J.G. in the U.S.N.R. and served as a Navy Supply Officer in McAlester, Oklahoma. Steve was a second generation owner of Hokus Pokus Liquors in Alexandria and Lake Charles. Mr. Sherman was a member of Congregation Gemiluth Chassodim where he served as a past member of the Temple Board.

Mr. Sherman is survived by his parents Helen and Si Sherman of Alexandria, two sisters, Carla S. Chernow and her husband, Alan, of Plano, TX and Barbara Sherman of Sugar Land, TX, one stepson, Gus Olah and his wife, Michelle of Alexandria, two grandchildren, Elizabeth and Isabella and one stepdaughter, Gigi Olah of Miami, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Congregation Gemiluth Chassodim, 2021 Turner Street, Alexandria, LA 71301 or to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, Radnor Station Building 2, Suite 320, 290 King of Prussia Rd, Radnor, Pennsylvania 19087.
