- Learned of NROTC Scholarship opportunities in school library in St. Martinville, LA.
- During freshman year applied to US Naval Academy. Accepted to Academy but decided to remain at Tulane NROTC.
- Future General Robert Barrow was his Marine Officer Instructor and had quite an impact on all of the “Barrow Marines.”
- After initial tour of duty as an Infantry Officer, he returned to Tulane to attend Law School.
- Remained in USMC Reserves for an entire career. Very high regard for the USMC Reserves. Recommends it for those who choose to leave active duty.
