1933 – 2016

William "Bill" Ranson Fagan joined his Savior Jesus Christ on August 17, 2016, after residing for 83 years in New Orleans, Springfield and finally Baton Rouge. He received diplomas or degrees from Jesuit High School, Tulane University (B.S.), Loyola University (M.B.A.) and the Harvard School of Business (P.M.D.). After graduating from Tulane, Bill served as an active duty naval officer, and then as a reservist for over 20 years. He worked for Louisiana Gas Service Co. for many years, and then owned a personnel placement company until 1983. In 1973, Bill's identity was completely redefined by his relationship with Jesus Christ, and a ministry started to grow while he continued in the business world. In 1983, Bill began his full-time Christian counseling and teaching ministry that touched so many near and far, and was his mission for the rest of his life, with the encouragement, participation and support of so many friends. He was the eldest son of Aline Ranson Fagan and John Fischer Fagan, and is survived by his wife, Suzanne (Suzy) Duvall Fagan; three sons and their spouses, George and Andrea, Michael and Deirdre, and Sean and Shannon; and, by seven grandchildren, all of whom called him GrandBill (Ainsley, Connor, Ryan, Gray, Kathryn, Gary and Suzie). He is further survived by his brothers Norvin (and his wife Charlotte) and Dick, his sister Millie Groner, and his much loved nieces and nephews. He was "Uncle Bill" to a host of other family relations and friends, as well as the trusted brother and faithful servant "Bill" to those he met through his ministry. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 26, 2016, Lakeview Christian Center, 5885 Fleur De Lis Drive, New Orleans, Louisiana, and the service will start at Noon. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to The International Foundation, P.O. Box 23813, Washington, D.C. 20026-3813 (notation for Fagan/685000), with which Bill was long affiliated, or to the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, P.O. Box 96105, Washington, D.C. 20090-6105.
