1926 – 2018
Joseph Jacques Hein entered this world in Chicago, Illinois on January 26, 1926. He departed in Palm City, Florida on November 24, 2018.
He was the only son of Joseph Jacob Hein and Marie DuFresne Hein.
Jacques graduated from Tulane University in 1946. It was there that he wooed and wed Salome “Boodie” Hein in 1947.
Jacques was a true American patriot, an honorable man who faithfully served his country in the Navy with pride and dedication from 1946-1976. He attained the rank of Captain, SC, USN. While in the Navy, he earned a Masters Degree in business from Harvard. Jacques was considered one of the foremost finance and accounting professionals in the U.S. Navy.
He his survived by his loving wife, Boodie; Jacques and Boodie were blessed with a son, Jonathan and a daughter, Susan, who survive him. Also surviving are his grandchildren, Alex Hein and Kirstie Sadler; great grandchildren, Conor, Cara, Liam, Wolfie and Michael Joseph.
Jacques was most proud of earning his Eagle Scout as a teenager and among his many military decorations his Legion of Merit with a combat V as a naval officer.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 AM, Friday, November 30, 2018 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Palm City.
Internment will be in South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth at a later date.
