The Tulane NROTC Unit held a rare December Commissioning on Friday, December 20, 2019.  At 6 o’clock in the evening in the Navy Building, a new Second Lieutenant was commissioned for the United States Marine Corps.  The Tulane NROTC Alumni Association welcomes Nicole Trusty as its newest member.  Ms. Trusty hails from Florida and is looking forward to her future travels with the Marine Corps; the first to The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia.  She is a Tulane University Graduate who majored in Homeland Security.  The Commissioning Ceremony was a traditional affair with family and friends around to support her.  Her commissioning officer was Major D Meyer, Jr, USMC, past MOI of the Unit.  Her parents attached her new insignia.  The Barrow Award was presented to 2nd LT Trusty from LtCol (ret) Timothy Huete, president of the Tulane NROTC Alumni Association.  The Barrow Award is awarded by the Alumni Association and recognizes the graduating senior who exemplifies the characteristics of the Marine Corps.  In her remarks, 2ndLT Trusty thanked all who supported her including family, friends, and mentors.  She was truly grateful for the time she has spent at Tulane University NROTC.
