Lida Pardue Cooper (2004) was a featured speaker at the Tulane Professional Development Series, Women Making Waves 2022.  She was a panelist on the Prioritizing Diversity and Inclusion event on March 16, 2022.   Lida Pardue Cooper graduated from Tulane University and was commissioned through Tulane Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps in 2004. The Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse on the campus of Tulane University was the site of the Joint Commissioning for the Tulane Reserve Officers Training Corps on Saturday, May 21, 2022.  Eighteen midshipmen and cadets were sworn in as Ensigns and Second Lieutenants in the Armed Services. I was assigned to VA-35 in 1965 and served with them until 1968. During that time, we deployed to Vietnam twice and were part of Air Wing 9 on the USS ENTERPRISE. I was the Air Intelligence Officer (AIO) with VA-35. As such, I flew with the pilots whenever a right seat needed filling and sent to the same survival training that they did.
