Served in Office of Chairman JCS 1980;
Commanded Naval Station Keflavik 1982;
Dep. Dir. Defense Mapping Agency;
Commander Iceland Defense Force 1986;
Defense & Naval Attache in China 1990;
Retired 1992.

Consultant on East Asia security affairs 1992-present.

Married for 51 years to Marshall Marie Phillips McVadon of Baton Rouge, 5 children, 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren. Live in Great Falls, Virginia, near Washington.
