Lou Ramos, the former CEO of the Ramos Gin Fizz has passed away. Louis was the last surviving grandson, of Henry Carl (H.C.) Ramos, creator of the Ramos Gin Fizz. Louis E. Ramos “Lou”, passed away on October 12, 2016, at El Camino Hospital, Mt. View, CA, after five courageous years battling multiple cancers. He was born January 1, 1924, in New Orleans, LA, to Frank & Eugenie Rousset Ramos. He is preceded in death by siblings, Paul Ramos, and Marie Ramos. He graduated from Jesuit High School, and Tulane University, New Orleans, LA Enrolled in the Navy R.O.T.C at Tulane, he graduated in 1944. He served as 1st Lieutenant in the US Navy. His service during WW II was all over the Pacific war theatre. His ship was anchored in Tokyo Bay, on September 2, 1945, during the Japanese surrender ceremony. Married in 1949 to his loving wife, Nancy Peairs Ramos, of Normal, ILL. He was the devoted and loving father to three sons, Randy (Kathy), Jon, and Brian; two grandchildren, Monique (Chris Chaffee), and Christina, all of California. He was recalled for the Korean War, and served in the Atlantic, Pacific, Europe, and North Africa. He was honorably discharged in 1953. Moving to California in 1953, they purchased their Palo Alto home in 1954, and lived their until 2002. Moving to The Forum in 2002, in Cupertino, he enjoyed his weekly poker games, and bocce tournaments, as well as extensive travel across the US. Lou worked in sales for Bell & Howell in San Francisco & Burlingame, from 1953 to 1973. He co-founded Accurite Industries, a printing company in 1974, and retired as Executive Vice president in 1997. Louis Ramos was especially proud of his southern heritage, though living in California. Memorial Services were held on Friday, October 28th, at Alta Mesa Cemetery, Palo Alto, CA his family would request all donations be made to: Contribution in memory of Louis Ramos to The Salvation Army.
