Lt Crawford  was Sophomore Instructor for 2 years, during which he was Faculty Advisor to the Radio Club and The Barnacle. He came to Tulane NROTC in September 1964 from the USS Cone (DD-876) where he was the Weapons Officer. He departed in June 1966 to serve on the Staff of Admiral Ward, Commander US Naval Forces Vietnam. I was assigned to VA-35 in 1965 and served with them until 1968. During that time, we deployed to Vietnam twice and were part of Air Wing 9 on the USS ENTERPRISE. I was the Air Intelligence Officer (AIO) with VA-35. As such, I flew with the pilots whenever a right seat needed filling and sent to the same survival training that they did. Colonel Bross was the Unit CO of Tulane NROTC BROSS Col. - Robert Bross (USMC, Ret.) of Atlantic Beach, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2007 at the age of 86. Robert was born in 1920 in Babylon, NY, son of William Warren Bross and Lillian Allen Leute Bross.
