Congratulations Ensigns and Second Lieutenants!! The Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse on the campus of Tulane University was the site of the Joint Commissioning for the Tulane Reserve Officers Training Corps on Saturday, May 21, 2022.  Eighteen midshipmen and cadets were sworn in as Ensigns and Second Lieutenants in the Armed Services. DOD ROTC Partnership Excellence Award

The Tulane Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps was awarded the Department of Defense ROTC Partnership Excellence Award for the 2019 to 2020 academic year.  This award was presented on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Navy Building on Tulane's main campus.  The DOD Award recognized the unit and university and their strong partnership that has enhanced the quality of training the next generation of military leaders have received.  President Fitts, Tulane University President; Captain Bowdich, Professor of Naval Science for Tulane NROTC;  and Rear Admiral Trinque, Assistant Commander for Career Management, Naval Personnel Command, were the guests of honor [...]

On Friday, September 17, 2021, Brett James Harris was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps.  The small ceremony was held in the Navy Building on the Tulane University Campus.  Surrounded by family, 2ndLt Hargis took the oath of office from Captain Dorinda Pintos.  His father, MSgt Bobby Hargis, USAF Ret., and his step-father, MGySgt Ricky Hart, USMC Ret. pinned on his bars.    A native of Louisiana and a graduate of the University of New Orleans in Business Administration, 2ndLt Hargis is looking forward to starting his Marine Corps career as a Ground Officer.  He will attend The [...]

Tulane University Naval Officer Training Corps got a new Professor of Naval Science on May 28, 2021.  Captain Daniel J. Senesky, USN was relieved by Captain Paul Bowdich, USN in a moving ceremony held on the deck of the Navy Building on the Tulane Campus.  Following all COVID guidelines, the Change of Command evoked the time honored traditions of the US Navy; especially on the cusp of Memorial Day.  Family members, friends, midshipmen, unit staff, newly commissioned officers, Tulane deans, and Alumni Association members were on hand to witness the ceremony in person and on Zoom.     Welcome Aboard [...]

Women Making Waves Featured Speaker

Women Making Waves Featured Speaker Tulane University hosted the sixth Women Making Waves Conference on March 7, 2020.  Held in the LBC University Center, the focus was “How Global Events Ignite Leaders”; which fit right into the program goal of highlighting alumnae career and leadership successes. Commander Audry Oxley (2001) filled that mandate and was one of the featured speakers.  The Alumni Association applauds CMDR Oxley for her elan, support, and positive representation of the Navy and her alma mater.  Tulane included a mini- bio for all speakers, including  CMDR Oxley. Tulane University will celebrate Homecoming the weekend of 1-3 November 2019.  Your TU Naval ROTC Alumni Association will hold its annual Meeting for Membership, followed by a reception in the Navy Building, on Friday, 1 November. The meeting will begin at 3:30 PM, with the building open for reunions with friends and colleagues at 3:00.  All Alumni, Association Members, and former Instructors are welcome to attend.
